Can you please advise if you were using the Exalead Desktop version 4.5 before on this machine? When did you acquire the license? There is a known issue with the licenses issued for v4.5 and used with 4.6.

Do you have any error or message in the log file :

%HOMEPATH%\Local Settings\Application Data\Exalead\Desktop\notesProxyRun\log.log

Password for lotus notes can be entered with a special connection window when Exalead Desktop tries to connect to Lotus notes repositories.

Do you see any Lotus Notes entries in your Exalead Desktop indexation window ?

I tested the old 4.50 version: It does not work either with Lotus Notes (8.5)

No answer from the support yet...

Any hints from here?

Yes regexp had actually been unplugged by error, we will replug it in the next days.

I can confirm that the bug is still there (271 results for exalea*).
Also, your workaround doesn't work since regexp search seems to have been disabled too :-( I'll file a new bug for that.

You could use a software like RegCleaner so to clean register keys and process a "clean" install.

I will try the upgrade the next time I have the chance.

Are there instructions for doing a 'clean' re-install? I have had issues before where doing a normal uninstall did not appear to completely remove all traces, since a subsequent install would fail or one desktop would not run properly. In some cases, the only way I could get exalead working properly was to wait for the next time I rebuilt my system.

The thing is that we only keep word positions for only, I believe, the first 4kb of text. Therefore phrases will not be found towards the end of long documents. In fact the same issue affects the whole 4.6 line, so you can discuss this issue with our Enterprise experts.

Hi,
Thanks for your continuing support.

I have logged into my Exalead account on my sons windows login and changed preferences to Enabled, saved and exited Exalead. when I reopen exalead on my sones log in it is not logged in as me and has reverted to moderate. It needs someone to log in as me each time, I can not expect my sone to do this on his Windows log in.

If I do the same to my Windows log in, when I open Exalead it always opens with me logged (I do not have to log in) on with my preferences aved as Enabled!

Do I have to create a separate account for my son ?

hm... I just tried and it worked for me. Hmmm... were you logged in when REopening Exalead after shutting it down?

Sorry if the question seems stupid to you but I changed my preferences while logged in, then I closed the tab, reopened it (I wasn't logged in anymore) and actually the preferences by default is "moderate".

If you did everything right, can you go to this website http://useragent.org/ and paste here what your user agent is please?

Hi,

I logged in to my Exalead ccount on my sons log in and changed the preferences of to Enabled and saved preferences while I was logged in. I shut Exalead down. On reopening Exalead the preferences had reverted to moderate !!!!!!!! agh!!!

Please help.

Engineers told me the issue was fixed some time ago, are you sure to have the latest version (4.6.0.515) of Exalead Desktop ?

Good find the prefix search using a "*" seems to have been unplugged we will check why and fix this.
In the meantime, you can use the more complete form to specify a regexp using //
for example:
http://www.exalead.com/search/web/results/?q=%2Fjenn.*%2F
