Advanced Search Features
My main reason for checking out (and coming back to) exalead is the wildcard search feature: "/*ouse" will find websites with any words ending on "ouse". Google, Yahoo, MSN don't have that. This is your strength, and you should expand on it. I am a newbie, but my suggestion is: improve the instructions (help) on wildcards, and add more features, such as "/a???b" to find all five-letter words starting with a and ending on b.

Web, Images, Wikipedia, More?
Over the exalead search-bar you can choose if search among Web, Images or Wikipedia. Great, but Exalead can search also for video files, audio files, weblogs and forums. Why don't add this features over the search-bar? Or better: Why don't let the users decide?

Rating system
As it stands, the rating system goes don't, not sure, yes, please do.
I think it would be a better idea if EL were to implement a fifth rating and place it between yes and no (the latter of which would supersede not sure, making the centre option not sure), or at least rename it to something else.
There are many people that are not sure about something, but might be open to the idea, and given that, the idea that if you don't know, vote no (hey, political slogan, anyone? :p) is rather silly.

Category search at the main-Page
Hello,
There is already the great possibility to refine a search through selecting in witch category to search.
So it shouldn't be so much work to add a possibility to select the category already on the main-page!I would make this like a folder-hierarchy like it is available in many File-browsers, with +/- in front of every category to expand/collapse the subcategories.
For simpleness, I would only show 2 levels! Klicking on one would reload the page (but still the main-page), in the way that there are again 2 sublevels of the selected item visible, this could be done again and again... So it won't get to complex!
You should absolutely make it possibly to hide it easy.Michi
