Exalead Desktop only indexes Lotus Notes databases from version 5.09.
The problem may have been resolved since we are actually in version 4.6.0.515 of Exalead Desktop.
Does the free version of exalead Desktop index Lotus Notes documents? In past builds of 4.6, I was able to select the Notes databases to be indexed. I had un-installed exalead some time ago due to indexing reliability issues. When I installed build 4.6.0.504, the Lotus Notes databases do not show up. However, the 'Index monitoring;' window shows "Lotus Notes: indexing" (never changes).
Thanks, Norbert

What does that mean?
LoNo-DB only from version 5.09?
Is Lotus Notes Version 6 OK? 8.5 OK?
Please answer

In the web page:
"Lotus Notes (from version 5.09)"
i think
Lotus Notes 5.9 and higher versions...
Or not?
What versions?

Thanks for the confirmation. As my original post mentioned, I do not see any Lotus Notes databases in the 'Indexed Items' tab, nor have I found I way to get Exalead one Desktop to index the Notes databases. I will uninstalled Exalead one Desktop, clean up any remaining registry entries, download the latest Desktop (free version) and re-install it.
is it possible that the Microsoft Windows Search plug-in for Lotus Notes might be interfering with Exalead? I did not see any errors duing the Exalead install.
Hello,
I worked 2 years with 4.50.3 Professional Ed and Lotus Notes 6.5.... It worked=indexed wunderful!
I could select each DB in Notes and choose (index it or not).

Hendrik, same here with versions of Exalead Pro 4.5. Although there were issues (not indexing all body fields), I was generally pleased with the product. I needed Exalead 4.6 to support Vista. At that time I ran into the issue where I could not get the Pro version because of the new minimum license requirement. Exalead 4.6 Free had a lot of bugs - the last straw as that it just stopped indexing new documents. Since I could not get any support, I looked for alternatives. Now Exalead does not appear to recognize that Notes is installed and until yesterday I could not get anyone to confirm that the Free version supported Notes.
Norbert,
same story here, we have 2 Lics.... but on the telephon they promised help (see other thread).
we will see...
Hendrik
I am encountering the same problem: I have been using Exalead Desktop 4.5 together with Lotus Notes 6.5 without any problem. My laptop has been replaced, so I started to reinstall the same version 4.5, but I have not been able to figure out how I could get it connected with Lotus Notes.
I checked many times for the correct pointer to notes.ini folder, but never got a list of sites to choose from as I had before, neither could I ever enter my notes password... really very strange.

Hello again,
is exalead now running at you with Notes 8.5?
Hendrik
Hendrik, I finally had a chance to remove the Windows Search plug-in and installed the free version of exalead one desktop (v4.6.0.515). So far, so good - I was able to select which Notes documents should be indexed. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the previous problems I encountered are gone.
* indexing stopping with no errors and no way of restarting it other than totally rebuilding the index
* exalead locking files preventing me from writing to them,
* incomplete indexing of Notes documents with multiple body fields

Hello,
what I heard is, exalead solved the LN-problem, but is only helping at the new professional version....
Hendrik
Hendrik, I spoke too soon. I noticed that there were already 57K documents indexed (I guess the uninstall left the previous index intact). I told Exalead to rebuild the index. Indexing seemed to be progressing well - I recall something like 89K documents indexed. When I tried to do a search, I got "Your Exalead one:desktop product is not yet started."
I rebooted. This time, Exalead search worked, but did not seem to pick up any Notes documents. The 'Indexed Items" page no longer showed any Lotus Notes databases, and 'Index monitoring' only shows 52K documents indexed.
I uninstalled, removed all directories and registry entries associated with Exalead, then re-installed. Only my names.nsf was selected under Lotus Notes. I added the other Notes databases and started indexing. An exalead search failed with the same error message (I noticed that the address bar had http://127.0.0.1:1750/search/mypcSearch?q=). After a reboot, all indexing options were lost again. This time, I could select the Notes databases. Also, an Exalead search worked. The address bar showed http://localhost:17600/search/mypcSearch?q=.
Before rebooted, I manually shutdown Exalead. No issues after this reboot.
I did notice that the 2006 problem still exists: only the first body field is indexed if there are multiple body fields in a Notes document. I will start a new thread.
Hendrick, would you be willing to test whether the multiple-body index problem (see http://feedback.exalead.com/feedbacks/373649-exalead-one-... in the Free version has been fixed in the Pro version? I can upload or send you a small Notes database and instructions for reproducing the problem.
Also, does the Pro version index documents in the Notes mail file that are only in the Inbox (see http://feedback.exalead.com/feedbacks/374260-exalead-one-...? I ran into this problem before, Exalead was able to reproduce the problem and fixed it in 4.6.0.432. It appears to be back in 4.6.0.515.
Thanks, Norbert
Hello Norbert,
the problem is, I cannot invoke any LoNo Search in any Exalead Version...
but I can try to help, of course!
Timmermann
Hendrik, it looks like I am in a better state than you are when it comes to Exalead!
Although it is sort of working and the interface is far superior to the Lotus Notes plug-in for Windows Search, my confidence in the reliability and accuracy of Exalead is low. In addition to the two problems that I posted on December 24 and 26, I believe Exalead is only indexing attachments in mail and archive databases (confirmed with PDF and DOC files so far).
I had bad experiences with Google Desktop Search and its Lotus Notes support, but I may give it a try when I rebuild my laptop using Windows 7. I could not get any support from Google, but then I cannot say Exalead's support is much better.
Hello,
as I solved my copy problem, I think I can help you - I own a professional 4.6. :-)
Timmermann

Yes
can you answer on that?
