copernicus does also index my Eudora mail , it would be nice if exalead could index eudora or thunderbird as well

I hope Exalead decides to bring back the "old" narrow-your search sidebar, and leave the tag-cloud as a per-user option only.

I appreciate the intuitive nature of a tag-cloud, but now your site is more like every other site which i have grown so tired of 'tag' and 'share' this and 'cloud' that. I realize that may sound crass, but in all seriousness-- your previous "exclude" design was indeed MUCH more efficient for narrowing a search to produce favourable, and even-- less-common, but perhaps better sites hosting never-before-seen material. THAT, i thought was the real beauty of Exalead.

iPhone will soon be introduced to Singapore. The i.exalead.com website does not seem to be accessible

When entering the search term 'songroom', the resulting list displays the site 'www.songroom.co.uk' over the sponsored entry, rendering them both unreadable. It appears that the error is specific to IE7 as I have checked the results with the latest versions of Firefox, Opera and Safari without error.

I attempted to send this report via the 'help us improve' link on the main search page, but the form returns a 'no such mail box error'. In addition, the blog 'Administrator' link returns a 404 error.

The file index for Exalead desktop only updates when the program is started.

The indexing of Outlook works in realtime, but the indexing of files doesn't, so I have to quit Exalead and restart it to update the index

How would this compare to Onkosh?

Powerpoint and pdf files are often a very good source of high quality / relevant images.

Imho, it would be nice and helpfull if exalead image search would also index images from ppt, pdf, doc, rtf and xls files.

I would expect the NEXT operator to be equivalent to a phrase search, but the following snippets on search results seem to point otherwise:

1) Results 1-10 of about 462,364 for "john smith"
2) Results 1-10 of about 463,334 for john NEXT smith

as I get a different number of search results.

Taking the 7th search result for the second query, we can see a bold smith without john. Imho those single terms shouldn't be in bold.

I found that for certain queries (e.g. looking for product reviews), an "intitle:(term1 term2 etc.)" search gives much better results than the default search. Couldn't you make this an additional option in the narrow search box rather than merely listing it in the advanced search box?

When searching for material for my homepage, publications etc. you'll have a problem: the copyright! You can't ask the copyright-holder for all the material you want to use (cause of time) - but a lot of peoples put there work under Licenses like CC, GPL or GFDL - so you can use it legally!
But how/where to find these works?
Therefore I propose two options in the "Advanced search"-Box:
* a license-Combobox where you can choose between "all" and several important licenses
* a Checkbox (Title: "sharing allowed") with that you can enable the following two Comboboxes:
1: commercial use allowed: all, yes, no
2: modifying allowed: all, yes, under same license, no
3: naming the author needed: all, yes, no

This would give the user a perfect control of for what he wants to use the founded things. It would be perfect, if you would make this option also usable in the picture search!

Je voulais savoir si il y avait une possibilité de faire des requetes sur votre moteur de recherche via mon blog par exemple. Ceci afin de récupérer les résultats d'une recherche et les miniatures des sites trouvés.
Mon blog est en flash, il me serait donc pratique de récupérér les images miniatures des sites.. et ceci légalement :)

Today One Desktop does not find all the phone numbers stored in Outlook contacts : it would be nice to index them, and to allow a search even with the wrong format.

Example : searching for "(12) 34.567" should output a contact whose phone number is stored as 12345-67
